Drive chain replace

Hi
I've got an 09 Speedmaster with 30'000 on the clock' I want to change the front sprocket up a tooth to experiment on the difference it will make on hiway rides. Should I also change the drive chain since it's due for a service now.

Is that kilometers or miles? Either way I think it is recommended to replace sprockets & chain as a set. Are the teeth worn or curved on the front or rear sprockets? Tight spot in the chain?
I actually went down one up front, 18T to a 17T. Did not replace the chain, sprockets & chain appeared OK and had about 12,000 miles of use. Figured I would be replacing chain & sprockets sometime around or soon after the 24000 mile service. Have ~23000 miles on the clock now.

Hi
Thanks for the reply yeah it's kilometres, I think I will replace it as a set. I haven't removed it yet but it's starting to look a bit ordinary so I guess better to be safe than sorry. I do a lot of hiway riding and always feel Im up on revs so I thought I might go up on the front I tooth.

Rgds
