Helmet lock for an 09 SM/other questions

Finally pulled the trigger on an 09 Speedmaster 2 weeks ago. Loving it! 250 miles so far. Would be more but I have to work. Put the Triumph boards on it but had to have 2 weld spots per board applied to the underside to have them cant 5 degrees inward instead of canting outward. Weird set up for stock boards?? Going to add Rivco risers with round tops(item TS017 from newspeedmaster.com) Wish there was a helmet lock. Is there any way to add one? Or is it there and I dont see it? Also, any comments on chain lubes. What is good/bad? Any new comments on windshields? I read over and over the the Triumph Roadster shield has terrible buffeting. I am 5'11(shrinking). Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Nice choice, balduke. What colour did you get?
You can get a helmet lock from Fast eddy here:

If you scroll dowm, you'll see it.

This lock fits on the end of Kuryakyn grips which you would also need to purchase. Haven't got them myself, but it's an option. Hope you enjoy the Speedie.

I know it sounds sort of ghetto, but many just slip the d-ring over the clutch or brake lever and use a small padlock. Necessity being the mother of invention I suppose.

I installed a set of BarEnder locks last year and really like them. I ended up buying the 6mm ones, then drilled and tapped the inserts. Saved me from having to spend even more getting new grips.

For chain lube, I use Chain Wax.

I do the same but without the padlock. Nobody touches another dude's helmet; it's a matter of honour.

Thanks for the quick replies. I will look into all of them. BTW the Speedy is black/white. I like all the colors. Ride and smile.

I've used a padlock attached to my seat rail. Not totally secure as the rail could be removed if someone was really determined. Works for me.

A computer word is 16 bits. 2 bits = 1 quarter (25c). 1 bit is 12.5c. A word is worth $2, therefore a picture is worth $2,000. Eugene Volokh

I use a cheap luggage lock (the kind you buy at Target or Wal-Mart 2 for $10) and loop it through the buckels on my helmet, and then the metal attachment from the throttle cable, then hang my helmet from my handle bars. Cheap. Easy. Well, mostly cheap.

Disc lock u-lock works for the helmet too, with the added bonus of you won't forget to unlock your disc unless you're also in the habit of forgetting to put your helmet on. Pad lock is less clunky to carry than the u-style disc locks though. I generally use the hole in the left foot control to pad lock my helmet(if I remember to grab the lock on the way out the door).
