The engine malfunction light on my 2008 Speedmaster efi comes on when riding with the throttle 1/3 opened and above, shut the throttle and the light goes out, the battery has been replaced, any ideas anyone?

I would take a look at the air / fuel filter, maybe throttle body sync?

Take it to the dealer and ask him to plug it in and see what fault code it's throwing.
Having said that I had a similar prob with mine when I picked it up new, but they couldn't find a fault and it went away after a couple of trips to the dealer.

Already taken it to the dealer and no fault code came up - all was clear.

Does it come on to full brightness or just get a glow?

Thinking about it, it used to glow which I thought was from the reflection of the other lights in there, now it comes on at full brightness only when riding with the throttle 1/3 opened and above.
