Installing ISO grips on an America - any issues?

I have ordered some ISO grips from Kuruakyn for my 08 America. I downloaded the instructions and the installation seems pretty straightforward but I was wondering how simple it is to get the old ones off. How do they come off? Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

The easiest way would be to take a razor and slice them off but be careful not to put to much pressure on the throttle side when cutting . or take a hair dryer or heat gun to them .

ISO grips

I added the K ISO grips to my 09 America. Good upgrade, get the throttle boss. Like the previous post, use something sharp to remove the current grips. I was surprised by the lack of glue used on the OEM grips. I had to loosen the throttle cables at the faux carb/FI unit, and at the HB assembly to do the throttle side ISO addition. Make note of the cable tighntness / positions! The left side grip needs the spacer, easy to cut to size. I think you will like the grips. The ISO Dually pegs are also a great addition.

I would like to put the iso-grips on my 2010 speedy, but i read in another thread that another owner was refused warranty service on the grounds that the new grips invalidated the warranty. Seems ridiculous, but smacks of truth. Anyone have any experience with this issue?

If changing the grips could have caused the fault, then the warranty may be void. However, if the change of grips is unrelated to the fault, then they can't really refuse warranty covr.

warranty?

I installed the ISO grips on my America. I was also having an issue with the left header pipe blueing. The dealer balanced or tweaked the injectors during checks. Then warranty replaced the possible faulty header pipe, no blueing since(well my Bonneville has a bunch). Dealer never discussed the grip changes or cable adjustment I had obviously done during grip installation, they do install many of them. I think that balance mismatch had more to do with my loosening the throttle cables at both ends and not making note of the actual positions. Had to loosen a bunch for enough slack to actually remove the factory grip from the cables end fobs.
