msrp reduction on new America and Speedy for 2010???

I just went to the Triumph website and noticed that the new America and Speedy are now only 7999.00. msrp. I have a 09 America which the dealer gave me 300.00 off msrp and I paid 8400.00 which kind of pisses me off because the msrp was 8699.00 usd and now they are selling them for 700.00 less, brand new from the showroom. This obviously means that the value of my bike just went down and I obviously overpaid!!!!! I love my bike and enjoy it all the time, infact rode 50 miles today in NewYork with 35 degree weather but imagine the extras I could of got for that price diffrence. Just kind of makes me wonder if there going to discontinue the line or if there going to make a radical change of the styling? Who knows what their upto. Maybe its just the economy and they need to sell more bikes but that is a large reduction in price and that is not an advertised special. Whoever wants one is now in luck. Maybe the competition in the jap bikes drove the price down considering the v star 950 goes for same price?

Mac I hope that's not the case, like you I just bought my Speedy a few months ago and had a lot of drama with the dealer over the price.

If I get up to the dealer and they are asking less than I paid, there will be some wholesale ass-beatings.

And then I'll probably, you know. Buy something.

I think its because of the exchange rates (£ vs $). Yamaha bikes in the UK have just risen by 25%, YES, twenty five percent!

Don't feel bad guys, Im in Australia and the price for the America here is $16000 AUS. and when converted to US that's $14400 US at the moment.. Yes that's nearly double the price your paying.

Oh and wait, and there is NO special offers either..
You want Pipes? Pay for it.
You want Jacket? Pay for it.
You want Free stuff? Hahahahahahahaha

"Such nice a nice bike, I'll take one in black, with TOR and Sissy Bar thank you and here is my $17K. Oh, and I have to wait 3 weeks? OK. and you want me to bend over? OK."

Hope this makes you guys feel better.

Well I spoke too soon, Triumph bikes (at least the modern classics) have recently gone up although they blame part of that on the VAT rise (I don't recall them coming down when it was reduced though).

Never mind, I've just got hold of a 9 month old Bonneville SE with only 2,700 miles on the clock, in mint condition, and it's fitted with £400 quids worth of accessories for...

Only £4,400.

Bargain.

Triumph prices in Australia are a joke (not that I'm laughing).

A few months ago, I bought an '05 Speedmaster (delivered in Jan '06) for AU$11k (US$10k) - about par for the course here. Granted, it had around $2k worth of extra bits (TORs, sissy bar, solo and pillion seats plus original gunfighter seat, Triumph "custom" flame paint job, Triumph saddlebags and more), but it doesn't seem right that I could get a brand new EFI Speedmaster, probably with the same accessories, for less in the States.
