Detachable sissy bar for Speedmaster

Hi,

I just joined after having read/leached on the forum for some time.

There is a lot of discussion around detachable saddle bags, but is there a tried and test solution for a detachable (quick release) sissy bar?

I have been trying to find out whether there are any sissy bar side plates for Speedmaster that work with ghost/easy brackets?

I have even considered checking whether the Harley detachable system works, but need to check the bolt distance on the fender first.

Has anyone tried/seen the Kuryakyn Raptor bar on a Speedmaster?

Thank you.

Hi Corselli, welcome. I'll move your post to the speedy/america section. There are some great folks there who can help you.

Yes the side plates will work with the easy brackets , if I remember right you will need longer hardware ( the bolts that fasten the brackets to the strut/fender )

Thank you for the replies/help.

I am still researching but have found out that the side plates for the HD Dyna series will almost fit between the first and third bolt on the Speedy's rear fender - it's a round 5mm to long but that can be modified I guess.

I will look at some more options before biting the trial and error bullet.
