Memphis shades lowers

Have a roadster screen for my 2007 SM and have issues with buffeting. Wanted to get some lowers and came across the Memphis shades lowers. After some research I found some issues with the mounting kits for the SM due to the dimension of the fork shroud.

Wanted some help with identification of the correct mounting hardware. Have emailed the manufacturer and their response is "I'm sorry but we don't have a mounting kit that will work with the triumph.".

Have read varying reports on purchasing the MEM9887 model for a Suzuki Marauder 800 but was hoping someone could confirm.

Thanks

Hi HZEBRA,

Just went with 09 SM. I am looking at windshield options. Which one do you have and are you happy? I also ordered the boards as you suggested. They look like they will work.

Talking one windshield option

Try Laminarlip.com I looked all over here for some info on fixes and can't recall whom I got it from,,,but like to thank them..
I've got the stock America roadster windscreen and at 6'2" it has been a buffeting pain to ride at speed with the roar of the wind directed right in my face..I called Laminar and Leo there send me pics of their lip on an America...it turns out it was developed for a VROD but fits perfectly on the Triumph...stiff at 85 bucks but man what a amazing change in the bike...the air stream now breaks well over my head and the rush of wind is gone at all speeds..now I can hear the engine and the valves??

The quality is as good or better than OEM and just attaches to the upper portion of the shield with a 3m type tape/velcro and can be removed or adjusted...the lip is curved and the space between allows some air thru which turns up and away from the rider.. Hope this helps others...hate to buy things and find out they are crap.......or is it bloody crap? in the UK.......you will like the lip..

Thanks for the info Norm You haven't still got the photo of the America or a picture of your bike with the lip attached have you.

And your right its great to get comments about this stuff before handing over the money.

a photo phinally

These are the shots sent by Laminar....

I'm not pushing these products over others...but like many, I bought the bike with the roadster screen installed and after putting out serious money for them, found them inadequated for my height...so another 85 bucks was less painful than purchasing a new system and discarding the OEM..just trying to help

I probably shouldn't jump in here without personal experience with a product but Parabellum makes a screen for Speedmasters and Americas. I have had their windshields on other bikes and loved them and if I were to put a shield on my Speedmaster that would be the first one I would try.

I have an'07 Speedmaster with self fabricated lowers. Big reduction in buffeting. These mounts for a Kawasaki VN 900 fit the lower forks.

Thanks for the info. I ended up buying the wrong memphis shades kit and cut the mount and added in a section of aluminum and drilled and pop riveted it. After polishing it looked fine.

I got the memphis shades lowers and I am still experimenting with position but I have experienced a noticeable decrease in buffeting.

I looked at your picture gallery and noticed that you changed the angle of your screen by adding (it looks like) a couple of inch spacer to the lower mount. Did this decrease the amount of buffeting as well.

By the way nice ride. Like the engine dress up bar, footrests and seat.

more pics?

Great photos Lilbigfoot...by chance do you have a photo of the bike from the front..are the brackets pretty solid as they look like just one on each side?

Do they help with the rush of wind enough to warrant the expense?
