Rivco Centrestand

Any reports on the Rivco centrestand ?
Before I hand over $559 AU (yup thats what they cost in OZ from a local importer) i'd like to hear glowing tales of ease of use, any changes to cornering clearance & product quality.
I know it's going to make maintenance & cleaning easier, & it's got to be a lot more stable than a trolley jack.

I have had one for 2 years now , just great , no scraping now that i have worked out suspension and Tyre pressure to suit
Just a tip lock tight the nyloc nut as well , one fell of of mine
Mine went on with no probes but i have heard of some needing a little touch up with a grinder to make them fit
Who you getting it from ??

Just searching for a cheaper price! I'm not interested in a bike lift - need something I can use anywhere.

I bought the centre stand from newspeedmaster.com and paid much less even with freight to AU.
I do however have some clearance issues and drag the stand along the road surface when turning hard right. Also I must say that the idea of threading the hand strap through the frame near the ignition key is a bit of a pain.

I take it that there was no import duty to pay?
The hand strap you mention, is that to assist in lifting the bike onto the stand?

I have an early production centerstand sourced directly from Rivco. Good quality, but requires hernia-inducing effort unless the bike is first rolled onto a block of wood. The stand can scrape in tight low-speed left turns, especially if there is a crown in the road. That may not be a problem for you blokes in OZ on the wrong side of the road...

The hand-strap is indeed to assist you in rocking the bike onto the stand.

not sure of the brand. I have an 08 Bonnie and the center stand (from my local dealer) is a good addition. As the above post leads to, you will need to raise the bike on a 2x4 (I park on a dirt car-port with some well placed pavers) or lower the lower the stand location base relative to the tires (my choice). Center stand makes many things easier.

No import duty was payable by me.

Yes you thread the loop of seat belt type material through the frame near the ignition key. This goes over you wrist to help get the bike up onto the stand.

Lately, I have been (with a decent set of boots) able to put on the stand without this strap by grabbing hold of the rear suspension.

Typically, duty/GST is only payable when the total value of the imported items is over $1000.
