Carbed vs FI Speedmaster/America

Any one owned or ridden both bikes, if so what differences did you notice like torque or fuel mileage etc? Which did you like the best?

How does the 865 compare to the 790 Speedy, torque fuel mileage reliability etc?

Hi,
I have an 865 EFI SM from May 2008 on, and compared with previous 865 carbed engine I was able to largely try for more than two weeks, it's a different thing, but just at start and during the heat-on time.
Once it's at right temp, no massive differences are detected.
About MPG, there is a slight difference fovouring the EFI one, but nothing dramatical.

Compared with old 790 Carbed, there is less high punch favouring very low revs grunt.

Note: EFIs do not longer bluish the exhausts...

Cheers!

Maybe no bluing, but I've got "golding" on my EFI America. It's on one of the pipes, and supposedly both pipes will ultimately get it.

Bummer? Why?

I am a proud adept of WD-40 cult, and my main pleasure font is to keep exhausts clean and shiny, just had to note that the old deep bluish tone is no longer present on EFI bikes.

TriumphLance and KiwiTiger told it right...
a fine "golding" tone is all I can see on my over-5000 miles exhaust.
