Solo Seat Question

I am at present running my Speedy with the stock gunfighter seat. I have the solo gel seat on order, hoping it will be with me this side of Christmas. My question is, the gunfighter seat bolts down onto the rear fender, but I don't think the solo seat will reach the hole in the fender where the gunfighter seat bolts on, so is there some sort of blanking bolt or grommit or something to fill the hole? I really don't want a hole in my fender!

Never seen anything specially for that porpose, you can get decorative bolts to fill the hole. Size I believe is M6. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/produc...code=H/H03-100 Newspeedmaster might also be worth a try.

You will need to replace the existing 'pin / post' arrangement for the solo seat with a M8 Bolt which should be supplied with your seat. The rear fender where the gunfighter seat currently attaches can be simply covered with the existing bolt. Just take out the gunfighter seat and screw the bolt right back in.

I have done a similar thing, although added the seat rail as well as the seat rack. You can see some pics at http://www.triumphrat.net/picture-ga...ml#post1404062

A computer word is 16 bits. 2 bits = 1 quarter (25c). 1 bit is 12.5c. A word is worth $2, therefore a picture is worth $2,000. Eugene Volokh

Thanks for the feedback. I did think that I could just put the original bolt back in, but thought it was ugly and would spoil the look So I have ordered this which I hope will look a bit better.

Y'know Triumph make a bolt and stud type thing to cover the hole in the rear fender. Looks way better than just a bolt. It's in the accessories catalogue. I'd link you to it but can't find it right now.

Man, I just had a look but couldn't find anything. If you find the link I would appreciate you posting it here.

Might sound odd but I can't find it anywhere! Looks like Triumph have dropped it from their range, maybe? If you can get your hands on an 09 Triumph cruiser catalogue you'll find it in the accessories page. It's nowhere to be found on the site though

Triumph sells a medallion that covers the hole in the fender when the solo seat is used, it's made specifically for this purpose. I have the solo seat on my '09 Speedy and had the medallion installed when I had the seat swapped out.

It's in the catalog and goes for like $20.

I wonder if this is the same thing Ronz32 is talking about? If so, there is no sign of it in the online catalogue! My bike is going in to the dealer's tomorrow for it's 500 mile service and I will ask them what they think.

Is this what you are looking for? I have no affiliation with fast eddy sports and have never ordered anything from them (I'm a new Speedmaster owner and came across this part while scouring the internet for potential accessories ), although I have heard good things about them through various forums, etc.

*LOL guess you beat me to it a few posts above...Let me know if it works, I might do the same thing!
