Paitents Mate , It took me 3 weeks to get one here in the states for an Speedy that I was working on and I was very upset with the inabillity from Triumph to get me this part . You might want to also check with Triumph even though the bike was WAY out of warranty they still picked up half the bill . There seems that there was a bad batch of ignitors that made there way into production on the 04 and 05 bikes

Ignitor part # T1292060

Hi there

Thanks for your reply

Yep exhausted those avenues. The bike has done all of 17000km just over 10 000 miles and Triumph Australia refused to warranty nor good will. The company Team Moto whom I bought the speedy from were not belligerent and willing to sell it at cost but that is still heaps more than importing the part myself directly from the USA or UK. The challenge lay-in that fact that no parts are in Australia, and they can give NO guarantee of ETA once I've ordered and paid for the part.

They lovely thing about all this is the fact that written into the Fair Trading or Practice Act 42 (law) is " a reasonable amount of time" to get the part and only a Judge may comment or have an opinion on what is reasonable.

So the long and short of it all is, get it myself from the USA. So the question still remains - who would be best to order the -
Ignitor part # T1292060 for Triumph Speedmaster 2004
VIN xxxxxxxxxxx197556 ?

I have sent a question to parts@speedsupplies.com and awaiting their reply.

Cheers

Pat

If you want to chance your luck with a 2ndhand ignitor you could try these people.

Never used them myself but may be OK.

Many have purchase parts from Pinwall on Ebay with good results. Haven't heard of anyone purchasing a defective part from them. If you do purchase one make sure it is for a 270 engine.
