foot boards and heel/toe shifts

Greetings from Oz!

I'm seeking advice from those who know more than I about how foot boards and heel/toe shifts fit on Speedmasters.

After six or seven hours riding in a day my feet are starting to hurt when I'm wearing my winter boots (very flexible sole but sheep skin lined) so I'm thinking about putting foot boards on my Phanny. Will foot boards fit/work ok with my heel/toe gear shift?

Tah muchly in advance,

Deb in Oz

Yes you can install floorboards and heel toe shifter. I've tried them but didn't like it. It's a personal taste thing. I now have the dually kuryakyn pegs and love them. Much better than stock pegs.

Thanks for the info guys. I made the mistake of buying the Triumph saddlebags without looking into them properly and decided I'd better check about the footboards. (No point asking the local dealer 'cos they're rude, grumpy and not interested )

The plan is to tour on our bikes when we retire (next year) and I want to make sure Phanny is comfortable for all day rides for consecutive days.

Thanks again

I love having the footboards on mine, but I have noticed that I am scraping them everytime I lean into a turn. Guess I'm used to leaning way over from riding my Speed Triple add to the fact that the SM handles so well. Something to keep in mind. Oh, just remembered that my bike is lowered 2" so that could also be contributing to the scraping. Still a definite plus having them though.

Hope this helps in the decision-making process.

I have the floorboards but not the heel/toe. It sure makes a difference. It also makes it easy to lift up a little for bumps and pot holes.
