Will a engine guard & air dam work togetter

I bought a used 2002 America and the last owner installed a air dam which I like but I would also like to install an engine guard as well. Will this work?

That is the old style air dam & new style dresser bar. I don't think so, at least not without modification.

I have the old style triangular dresser bar and new style air dam & they fit just fine.

Not the best shot, but you get the idea:

Thanks, I was looking to install highway pegs but I don't think it would work correctly with your style crash bar and I don't want to get rid of the air dam because the guy I bought the bike from said it helped stabilize the bike at higher speeds? If I come across a used oval type crash bar for cheap on ebay I'll buy it and see if I can make it work some how with the air dam, maybe fabricate some kind of brackets or?

dresser bars and air dam

I ran into the same problem. had the air dam on my speedmaster and later got the "D" style dresser bars for highway pegs...didn't note the problem until tried to put the two together. Looked on the triumph site and it looks to me that they have modified the new air dams to accommodate the D dressed bars. Sucks for those of us who bought the air dam before the D bars came out.

I think i will be able to modify the old air dam i already have for the D bars but won't give up the highway pegs over the dam...damn
