Wink Sore butt.

My speedmaster is the first cruiser I've owned and it's great, but I miss being able to stand up on the pegs and stretch my legs while riding. It also allows the blood to flow back into my arse. I've seen somewhere a set of hand made brackets that bolt onto the centrestand mount and allow pegs/boards to be fitted. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Regards

A computer word is 16 bits. 2 bits = 1 quarter (25c). 1 bit is 12.5c. A word is worth $2, therefore a picture is worth $2,000. Eugene Volokh

You can also get some mounts that move the rear pegs down and forward. Newspeedmaster.com sells them. Says they move them forward 12" and down 3".

P pegs are also the same threading as the silencer monting bolts. For a poor mans p-peg relocation, I just ground off the stubs on the back of the peg bracket and used a few fender washers for shims/protecting the rubber bushings. I tuck my feet back there to change up the pressure on the back and stand up every now and then.

I had the same problem when my bike was new. Might I suggest?

1) Floorboards. They let you move your feet to several riding positions. I liked the ride better as soon as I installed them.

2) Use the rear pegs. Sort of the jockey position. Instantly gets the blood flowing to cramped parts. The pegs work fine if you are alone. I have since added rear floorboards and now I can hang my heels on the front portion even with a passenger,

3) Seat pads. I have used the beads and the Airhawk cushion. Both make for a better ride. Beads are much cheaper and I like them on a really hot day. Then Airhawk is hard to beat any time but takes a little getting used to since you float around just slightly..

I had a set made up out of billet aluminium. They look better and I can stand up on them. The weak link was the two mounting holes and the peg bolts. The guy who made them up ground out the peg bolts and replaced them with stainless ones. He used stainless bolts also to mount the brackets. Not too shabby I think.

Monro01, when I got my America, I had the same issue. It was my 1st bike with fwd controls. I've got a friend who make me the brackets for the peg mounting shown in the thread on the BonnevilleAmerica.com forum.

However, after a few thousand miles on the bike after getting my seat modded, I don't miss it as much. I think having the seat done eliminated the numb but for all but the longest rides. Enough that I haven't gone any further with the extra pegs.

Munro01, that's a fine looking set of brackets. How much did they end up costing ya and were any more made?
