TOR Exhaust on Speedmaster

Hi All
My first post as Ive just sold my Speed Triple and had my Speedmaster delivered
My question is ...I have the short TOR exhaust fitted and remapped does this increase BHP or Torque?

Thanks

Hello Johsun,

Welcome to the forums. Installing the TOR exhaust will net an increase in horsepower and torque. A freer flowing exhaust will allow more air to flow through the engine and with this the need for more fuel. That is what the remap is for. More fuel and air = more power.

Thanks for the reply...
are there any actual figures...I have read about numerous enhancements but would like to see the actual improvement to see whether it is worth while.

Can't help you with figures but I found a marked improvement (with my long TORs). The engine pulls on much better without getting asmatic, first time out I discovered that I have a rev limiter. Pound for pound it's probably not the most cost effective way to get more performance but a very nice bonus if you were going for TORs to improve the engine note.

Norman Hyde the triumph twin guru from Uk had an article in a mag recently on a efi bonny he changed the pipes and took out the snorkle and installed a bellmouth then he re dynoed the hp increased by %13 and the torqur by %17 not a bad way to increase power
i just installed the short slash cut tors and re mapped took out the snorkle and opened up the coverplate to the size of the airfilter
i dont know if top end is any better but it sure revs quicker through the gears and sounds a hole lot nicer

Removing the snorkel sounds fairly straight forward...as I already have short TORs and been remapped if I remove the snorkel a guestimate of 64 bhp and 58 ft/lb ...does that sound about right

By Norman Hydes figures you should get about 68hp an increase of 13% and 86nm torque 17%

Hey Ian, Do what I do, buy from the USA. With the value of the OZ $ you can't go wrong.

I buy from Fast eddy Sports and NewBonneville.

Hi Brummie,

I am not aware of much aftermarket stuff other than the Norman Hyde range, having said that I don't know what is missing from the market. Triumph have the key parts covered, although they are very expensive the quality seems to be there. I am looking for some kuryakin risers and iso wings soon and it looks like I may have to get them from the US.

What part of Birmingham were you from?

Phil
