Hi folks,

I just picked up my factory fresh 2010 Speedmaster today and I gotta say it's AWESOME! It's easily the best riding bike I've had and has the look I've lusted after for many, many years. I traded in a 04 Honda Hornet 600 which I'd done a lot to and just lost the enthusiasm for modding it further. It had a Fireblade engine in it and a Blueflame can among other things and I was just getting far, faaaar too quick on it (150mph on a dual carriageway and taking corners that folks slow down for at about 80+) I mean scary fast.
So, before I get fitted for a pine coat I decided that a big change was needed. And, lo, the Speedy was chosen!
I've got the shorty pipes fitted but have to wait til December for the solo seat to be available.
Being in Scotland, I'll probably end up with shares in a lucky anti-orrosion spray manufacturer
No pics at the mo, way too busy riding :D

Hi all

Hi all, my name is tony and I live in portsmouth in england. Just bought a new speedmaster and I am loving it.

I previously had a hayabusa, but have found since I bought the speedie I go out riding more. The main reason I got her was that the busa was getting too uncomfortable. I had TOR pipes fitted and they make a great sound without being too loud.
This is a great forum and I look forward to being round for a while :D

Hello All,

I purchased a 2004 Triumph Bonneville America a couple of months ago. I've ran about 5 tanks of gas through her so far. I got the Triumph because I didn't want to be riding what everyone else here in the Hampton Roads area is. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Harley, Yamaha, Honda, or a Kawasaki. My dad used to ride a 1966 Thunderbird 650cc. He was stationed down here in Norfolk, VA and that was his mode of transportation back and forth to Pittsburgh, PA. He said he would ride that all the way up to December. No windshield and a regular helmet with a visor. I will say one thing right now. He was way more hardcore than I will ever be. Love the bike and breaking in my seat for a long trip.

Hi Guys

Bought a 2009 America about 3 months ago and now here I am. Great forum. So much info here. I have learnt so much about Triumphs in the last couple of days. I finished a 90000km over 18mths ride in 2000. When I stepped off the bike I felt that I would never have another one, I was over it. Then a month ago a mate of mine asked if I wanted to come and have a look at some Triumphs as he was planning to buy one. Went along, had a ride and felt the old joy in just being out there on the road with the wind in your face. Came home with the America. Because of the forum I now have found the way to fix the things that I was not happy with, thanks. Will soon be removing the AI and looking at the airbox. Have Staintune exhaust from new. My next project will be to move the foot controls forward as I do have long legs. I like a more stretched out possition. Because of where I want to put the pegs means that the exhaust is going to be modified. If anybody has moved there pegs forward I would love to hear from you.
Ride safe and with joy,
John

Hi there! I have owned one or two Triumphs in the past - but now moved over to an 09 Speedmaster. Having had a T100 in the past understand a bit about what's going on here. So ordered the short TORs together with some better pillion accomodation! Next - bar risers probably - I expect it'll be the HD Deuce ones which are cheaper than the billet ones and I think go with the bike better.

Look forward to a lot of miles on my nearly new blue n silver. It is an early efi model with 1500 on the clock. I'm hoping the remap that comes with the ToRs will iron out the slightly jerky off-idle throttle response. If not I can live with it.

Thats all for now folks!

Heloo from a newbie

Hi all,
Found this site & think it looks great, im in Bedfordshire uk if anyone wants to go out for a blast anytime. Had my 03 speedmaster for a few months now after sitting on a new one at this years Bulldog Bash 09, it felt just right for my size so i went out & found a nice one with only 8K on the clock. Couldnt be happier with it :)
Also have an old T140 E which is totally different but still nice to take out on sunny days. Been riding Triumph's since i was 18 (30 years ago ! ) When i find out how il put some pics on of them. ATB Paul:D

New User says Hello

Recently purchased my first Triumph...06 America with only 2300mi.
Very excited and will have lots of questions, but will try to force myself looking for already answered posts.

The big statement... Sure would like to meet other Triumph riders in my area ...East Texas. This is way too much a Harley area. The Triumph moto "Go Your Own Way" sure seems to apply. But hey... Im a new rider in the area anyhow, so for now...maybe I'll adopt the moto "Hog Killer". JK!

Hi, everyone. I am new to the site and just returned to motorcycling after a 13 year hiatus. I bought my new 2008 America in April and have put 4000+ miles on it so far. I added the roadster screen, large saddle bags, a roadster seat, and light bar. The only problems I have experienced are repeated shorts in the light bar wiring. I hope the dealer has finally cured it.

I love the bike, which is a far cry from my last bike (a 1979 Kawasaki KZ200).

It is great to find out about this forum.

Greetings from Oklahoma

haven't used this site for a couple of years, because it got really lame for a while. But, I bought a 72 Bonneville last month and needed some help. While I was in the vintage forum I took a shot and checked out the old neighborhood. Things have changed (Thank God) and hopefully I can hang around for a bit.

Hi Glad to see a Cruiser section

I bought my 2009 America last February. I have 9000 miles on it now.
I live in Virginia and have been fortunate to be able to ride so much. I have ridden it some every month since I bought it.

Glad to see this section.

2009 America long Tors, floor boards, roadster screen, light bar, saddle bags, tach.

New Speedmaster owner

Just to say Hello, got my 2009 Triumph Speedmaster just before christmas after leaving the 'safety zone' of my 1100 Virago after 10 years! and although I haven't had the chance to ride much since I got it, I love it, I'm only 5' tall and was a bit unsure if it was to big for me, but I got a lowered seat and it's made all the difference! so roll on the spring and some better weather, Ann

Ann with new speedy

Congrats on your purchase! I'm 5'11". I just stretch out and put my boot heels on the forward controls and ride. I kind of get to relaxed when riding, but thats whats its all about. My boss said the speedy looked to big for me. Harley owner. Whatever! We are blessed. Take care out there!

I have it now!

Hi everyone,

One week after test riding one, I found a good deal and bought a 2009 Speedmaster :] Difficult to measure what an immense improvement it is over the Virago 535...

Pictures next weekend when I pick it up (weather permitting, of course)! I can't wait!

Cheers,
Pedro.

the picture proves it.

Here's the picture to make it true :)

I am very very well impressed with the stock power of the speedmaster. There was no way I could expect it, even with the test ride. For my standard, it is phenomenally quick... I whacked the throttle in second gear to see how it went up the revs, but I chickened out after going over 70mph

While I was bringing the bike home, I was doing B-roads at 50-55-60 by mistake in 3rd or 4th gear because there were no signs of struggle from the bike, so no feeling of "should shift up".

Respect to all that seek a few more bhp from these engines. I don't think I need it

Fantastic bike!! :D

Cheers guys,
Pedro.
