I purchased some LED turn signal for my '04 Thruxton. The new signals have (2) wires so I did a straight swap with the standard wires. The first signal I wired (rear right) worked fine - although it was blinking a little faster than normal. I then wired the rear left and it worked fine - still blinking a bit faster than normal. Then I wired the front left, again doing a straight (2) wire swap. I then tested the the signal. This time the rear right blinked as it did before, but when I turned the left indicator on all three lit up but weren't blinking. I canceled the turn signal and tried it again - same thing - and no clicking sound from the relay. The third time I hit the signal switch I got nothing! I checked the fuse, it's good - my horn still works, and all the connections are good. I read through some threads alluding to L.E.D.'s not drawing enough current? - but I'm not sure. I would greatly appreciate any advice to remedy this because I really dig the the L.E.D's.

Cheers!

Are you sure you checked the correct fuse? Sounds like fuse went, but you do still have a problem with one of them.

If it's not too much trouble to take them off for testing then take THE one that seemed to cause the problem and connect to a battery to see if the wires are crossed. Do not do this connected to the bike, but with a battery just large enough to see if it works correctly wired. If it does not work connected either way, open it up if you can and take a peek.

With out a resistor in the circuit an LED will draw as much current as it can until self-destruction. Be careful fooling with them without eye protection if you remove the lens ( I would guess they have a resistor inside the lens case to limit current ). If not connected correctly, current will not flow, but no harm will be done to the LED.

To get your blinker speed back down buy some resistor packs on line. They are available at many of the LED sites.-T1

You need load equalizers to make them work right. Try customdynamics.com. (I think that's it)
