Thompson's Song of the Sausage Creature

I ran across this article Hunter S. Thompson wrote, thought some of you might be interested. I wouldnt call the bike hes on here a cafe racer, he does, its still a pretty interesting read though.

Nobody, but nobody writes (wrote) like Hunter S. Some days I am a fan, other days I think Hunter S. is an egomaniac - a jerk who couldn't touch reality if it were offered to him on a plate. Always, he's interesting. Always.

Hunter the dirt bag!

What a creep. This guy was perhaps a creative force but as a person he was an a**hole.
He came to speak at UAB one time while he was purportedly still alive and could not even mumble -he was incoherent and stumbling down drugged/drunk? both? I will admit to reading most of his books and seeing the Johnny Depp movie-I enjoyed some of his work.
We share some of the same interests: -large caliber handguns, fast cars, motorcycles , women , booze, and perhaps he enjoyed drugs (I did not do drugs ) and getting beat up by the Angels ( did not do that either). He had a very interesting life but not one I would celebrate as great. He was an original !!
