I stuck the ipod in my jacket and took off to the sounds of Captain Beyond pounding in harmony with the tors. The sensation was surreal. This was the missing link...a soundtrack! 70's riff rock to the max. Yes! Cool factor off the charts!

ps - Am I the only Captain Beyond fan here?

I combine my iPod with some Shure silicon earplug-style headphones that add 25-30 dB of passive noise supression.
It's awesome, though I have to pay a bit more attention to vibration for my shifting feedback.

I would expect I am a Captain Beyond fan, though I don't know. Seems like on the bike I like Motorhead, Gwar, and B.O.C. for that special 70s experience. Plus they have a 12 minute live cover of "Born to be Wild".

You've gotta be careful, though--don't wanna get so into the tunes that you die to a rocking soundtrack. I used to have a friend who insisted that "Radar Love" was the most dangerous driving song of all time...

Ya know, I'm gonna try Beethoven's 9th next ride. That could be pretty sweet. And of course some Wagner and Tchaikovsky for a different feel.

Since getting the ipod, my "chicken strips" are all gone. Maybe it's time to compile a top 10 playlist of most dangerous bike music...

Here's mine...

1. The Wanton Song - zep
2. Rock bottom(live) - ufo
3. Dancing Madly Backwards - captain beyond
4. drug against war - kmfdm
5. alchohol - gangreen
7. holiday in cambodia - dead kennedys
8. neon nights - black sabbath
9. twilight zone - golden earing
10. trooper - iron maiden

Buggy, theres more heavy metal on your list than the combined weight of all new Bonnies ever built.Maybe you would get better performance from your bike if you listened to something a tad "lighter"LOL. :-D Steve

Well, with Zep, UFO, the DKs and Golden Earring on your top ten list, I suppose I must be a Captain Beyond fan.

Ya know, I am going to do my own Top Twenty, but I gotta think a little. And there's gotta be room in there for Motorhead and Zodiac Mindwarp.

Maybe a top twenty underappreciated songs for riding would be good.

Rodburner, so like I could pickup 10hp if I listen to a set by the Archies or Tony Orlando and Dawn. Cool I'll make up a "ton up" songlist...

:-D
ton Up list...

1. Afternoon Delight by The Starland Vocal Band
2. Baby I'mA Want You - Bread
3. Honey - Bobby Goldsboro
4. Having My baby - Paul Anka
5. Close to You - Carpenters
6. Sweet Pea - Tommy Roe

That should beat out a NARK mod any day of the week!

Terrific! Thanks for polluting my brain with songs I had repressed for years!!!

On the other hand, 0-60 has dropped to like 2 sec, and the think wheelies like it's running in lunar gravity.
