Talking Mods Vs. Rockers San Francisco 08

I Understand The Date Is May 24th 08 . Anyone To Confirm This?
Also , I Am Out In Sacramento Anyone In This Area Planning On Going? A Group A Couple Years Ago Rode Out Of Sacramento From Espresso Metro. Looking To Get That Organized If Intrested.

Adam,

Not sure if the date is correct but, if it is......I might be able to ride up to Sac and then ride over to the bay in a group. If anyone else chimes in, lets try and get something together.

Cheers,
Chans (down in Turdlock area)

not in sacto

but If a bunch of triumphs and other classics are gonna be there I'll show up too.
I've seen video, though, it seems like it's a bunch of sport bike guys...

should be fun anyway.

What? Another Triumph in Redding? We should get together and ride. I live in Lakehead but I'm in Redding often. Sorry guys can't make the SF trip as I will be working, sound like fun though.

That event has, indeed, been overrun with modern sportbikes and metric cruisers. That's not a big deal if it's just a come-all ride. But really, if you're trying to invoke the whole Mods vs. Rockers thing...it's kind of a bust.

If you're looking for a cool vintage-only ride, keep your eye out for the 49-Mile Ride in October.

If you're looking for some cafe/Rocker fun, try the first annual Rumble on the Bay in August.

Now I'm not taking anything away from the SFMC or Secret Society or their event. Not at all. But to me, "Mods vs. Rockers" invokes a very specific kind of bike/scooter.

...just my $0.02

According to several websites, it appears to have already happened last weekend.

We should adhoc another gathering in the North State. We have most excellent roads with no traffic up here, pardon the sweltering heat though. We do have an abundance of water, pristine lakes and rivers.

If you're into burnouts in the broadway tunnel on modern sportbikes then this is the ride for you. If you expect to see classic bikes it is not. My impression is that this event was slowly dieing anyways. Neither club seems to even want to call it MvRs this year.

Thumbs down It's hot up here..

Soulrebel, check your PM please. Any Triumph owners in the North State, I've got a pool and a couple of hundred dollars to spend on hosting a ride, I'm sick of being the only Triumph on the scene. July appears to be the perfect time to ride our empty roads and escape to the inner mountain area. Any takers...?
