I hit a ....

GOOSE last night.

I'm cruzing allong the Detroit river on my 04 Thrux, minding my own buisness when I see two geese in the road up ahead. I slow to around 25mph, pull the clutch in and 'goose' (HA!) the throttle to spook them out of my path. One flies, the other starts running for a takeoff right next to me. We kind of look at each other for a second and he flies directly under my front tire. Feathers everywhere, **** near have the tire slide out from under me. I swear had I dumped due to goose flight I'd never ride again. Luckily there was a bit of down under the fender and no other damage to me or the bike.

Lesson learned: respect the local wildlife and their right of way!

Jake

I hit a killdeer (bird) a few weeks ago. I saw him coming and just tucked my chin to my chest the best I could. GF was riding her Bonnie Black behind me. She said it was an explosion of feathers. I was probably going 75-80 mph at the time .. hardly felt the impact, but it left a nice scratch on my helmet.

The biggest thing i've hit wasn't an animal, but it was left by one. This past weekend I was riding through amish country and ran right through a huge pile of horse manure. Or as we have come to call it around here, road apples. Well this was more like a road apple pie. Luckily none got one the bike or myself.
