How about eliminating that heavy battery? A123 made some high discharge lithium cells for DeWalt 36v tools and some motorcycle guys successfully replaced their batteries with these: http://www.tekbattery.com/. These guys don't sell the batteries anymore. Their prices were outrageous. You can get the batteries cheaper elsewhere. I've been thinking about doing it but my projects list is a long one.

You would have to make leads but that should be no sweat. You need a lithium ion charger, too. This one should have enough power for our Triumphs.

Just did a rear sprocket swap out to a British Customs sprocket. The BC sprocket is 12.1 ounces but the stock sprocket weighed in at a hefty 2lbs, 2.3ounces for a a nice saving of 22.2 ounces or a pound and 6.6 ounces. Every little bit helps.
