What to do with stock thruxton pipes?

Should I sell them? How much do they usually go for?

Just installed some TORS and they sound much much better.

Or keep them just in case? Thoughts?

The mufflers, not the pipes.I`ve bought 3 sets from guys here on the RATNET.All in good to excellent condition.$35 to 60 bucks plus shipping.I`ve seen them on ebay for $200.So,its your call. I have a perfect, unmolested set and a pristine set of headers hanging in my RATHOLE,"just in case". Welcome, agent 86

I kept mine - we have to have them for our annual MOT (safety inspection) although the place I take mine the guy doesn't even start the bike! Man, I'd forgotten how weedy the Thrux sounds without the Mototwin pipes or even the TORs I had fitted before.

wipe them down with an oily rag, wrap them in old newspaper and store them in the rafters in the barn
you can only get a few $ for the on eBAy and you may need them when you sell the bike or get caught with loud pipes and need to have it inspected
I still have the original mufflers from my 79 T140 ( I still have the bike too)

I keep most of my take-off parts because if I sell the bike (not that I intend to), I'll put the stock parts back on unless the buyer wants to pay for the add-ons. I figure I'll be able to get more for the serious add-ons like the Staintunes if I sell them separately.

Keep them

When you sell the bike, you should put the stock parts back on and sell the TORs separately. You'll always get more if you sell stock bike and accessories separately than if you sell the bike with accessories installed. You're basically giving away the accessories if you leave them on the bike when you sell it.
