New 05 Thruxton?

I found a leftover 05 thruxton. The dealer told me 6000 out the door. That seems a bit pricey. The fact that its never been started in four years scares me a little also. It still has the two year warranty but if the seals are dried out are they goin to be covered? Any help on what to ask the dealer or what I should be looking for wrong with the bike is greatly appreciated!! Im goin to look and hopefully make a purchase this weekend since I thaught it was a good idea to sell my daytona.

i was looking at the same bike, was sold now they got another one out back, after they told me they didn't,they are asking 7k cnd 2 year warranty too.It was a blue 2005 no miles still in box. I think with the 2 year warranty you are safe they will have to replace stuff like that, bust ask to make sure.

ive given up with that bike anyways, im fed up with looking for a good deal now so im going to get the black bonnie 2008 with some nice pipes.

$6000 isn't a bad deal on a new bike. You're covered under warranty if anything should go wrong.

Things to look for:
Rust in the gas tank.
Dry rot in the rubber components: tires, fuel and brake lines, vacuum caps on the carbs, and I'll bet the battery strap is shot (it's often the first rubber item to go bad.)
Operation of the carbs -springs and needles can corrode if they've been exposed to moisture, and gas will evaporate and form a laquer -if gas was ever run through them.

Dealer must install fresh oil and fresh brake fluid, and check/adjust/lube the cables and bearings -or has the bike been kept in a shipping crate that this would all be done for the first time?

fork seals

If you look in the warranty book, fork seals are not covered under Triumph warranty.

Sounds like a good deal out the door. I paid $6999 for my 06 leftover last May.
