I've done that ride twice and it always ends up being 4 hours in the pentagon parking lot

I do a ride from Jimmy's Tavern in Herndon at about, 8am. We ride to the city, pay our respects, then head out of the city before the rides start coming in and we do a tour of the Maryland hills before heading back to the bar where there is live music and all-you-can eat crabs/crawfish the rest of the day....

I'll be there, if I can wake up my friend with his T100, he'll be there.

....hey Hobbes...I hear that. I'm surely not one for sittin' around waiting to ride. I was thinking of the city as a cental location for folks to meet up...and well...if the MD hills and 'Jimmy's tavern' is the place to be....i'm in...especially for some crabs....

Don't know if it is "the place" necessarily, but your bike will definitely be appreciated by the folks there and the ride is always a good time. Either way, I'll be the black thruxton with the Speed-Four mirrors on it.

fatstring,

Been there, done that - If you're in the area its great, tons of bikes, and this year the featured marque is triumph.

I posted about this in the rides and events forum.

Roger Lyle is puttin on a track day and I"m about 50% sure I'm in. I'll be getting my race license that day as Roger is certified to give the class...CCS racing that following weekend.

Thursday...
it's supposed to be thunder-showers Thursday

Finally finished my forks, and putting on read shocks now... thursday would be perfect!

I'll wait till tuesday to sign up though, hoping for no rain; i can only afford so many track days this year and don't want to waste one on a wet track! (yea I know: wimp!)

I'm with you bro...won't be goin if it's wet..

Shoot, I'll run the beginner group with you cats...be fun to run with some other thruxtons for sure..

Only issue though is you'll have beginners on 170 hp liter bikes "scream and parking" and it might be a better choice to run with a faster group from a safety perspective, as they'll be a little better at avoiding you at the end of that 160 - 170 mph front straight. I'd hate to get ass-packed by some street hooligan on a ZX10...just a thought
