Chrome rear fender

I pulled this off my KZ400 just to see what it'd look like.

It's just kind of sitting there with a screwdriver holding it in place, not actually mounted:

What do you guys think? I kind of like it the more I look at it... Hmmm

Oh, and don't worry about the side cover being off. I keep my tools in the old airbox.

Boy, if you are going to have a rear fender (which I'm against for the Thrux) that's a pretty cool direction to go...

I must admit, I saw the title and i was like "wth? put a fender ON?" but it looks pretty cool. I think I'd still go without a fender, but I do like the old-school look and feel of that fender on the bike.

I chopped off the stock fender a while back, and really love how it looks sans fender:

But there's something about that KZ fender that makes me think twice about totally disregarding it...

Not sure yet. Just trying to get some other opinions on how it looks!

While I appreciate the effort, I suspect it belongs on the KZ400. By the look of your bike you are working towards a cafe style bike. That fender has a bobber look to it.

wow, don't hate me for this, but anything would look better than that big ugly stock light hanging out in the open.

I like the ducktail look of the KZ fender, but I think if you lost the stock tail light your bike would look better. You bike looks great other than the tail light.

I hate you!

Nah, I know exactly what you mean. When I chopped off the stock fender, I was just trying to be green and recycle the stock light. Ala Thunzie from YouTube fame.

Anyway, not to fear. My weekend project will be fabbing a bracket and installing this little guy:

Cheers

In completely unrelated news, I just got back from a lovely little gravel road ride.

Visually there isn't much point to chopping the rear fender if you have a big-old sissy bar back there.
