ignition fuse blowing

It's a 2008 Bonnie. The problem is VERY intermittent - the bike will drive for about 10 miles and then the ignition fuse pops. I've replaced it with the spare, then the other 10 amp fuses that the bike doesn't need in place to actually start up but they all blow. Sometimes after 5 minutes and sometimes after getting into only second gear.
I have replaced the indicators with smaller ones and moved the ignition key block using that after market kit. When the bike's stood still and running I've wiggled every available wire I can find but can't duplicate the problem. I know it's a long shot but has anybody had a similar problem?

If it's any help, I blew my starter circuit fuse while messing with my warning lights. I think I got a short on either the indicator light or the neutral light. Other than that all I can suggest is to get your test meter and check all wires on the bad circuit and associated circuits for a short. Do continuity tests on each wire with the battery disconnected and then connect the battery and test the live feed into each 'connection' to see if you're getting around 12V dc - then do continuity tests between the earth side of the connection and the frame.

check with your dealer for recalls. they are having problems with the ignition wiring and kill switches.

Cheers for the head's up on the recall. I've just finished disassembling and reassembling all the light electrics that I changed (new indicators and rear light) to put my mind at rest that it was nothing I'd done. Now I'll do a bit more digging about this fault (unless you know the specifics) before calling the dealer that I got the bike from. It's due for its 500 mile first service anyway. The local car part shop thinks I'm nuts - I've been clearing out their stocks of boxes of assorted mini fuses just to get the 10 ampers for the ignition circuit. They probably think I'm supplying the French car industry.

I actually don't have all the deets on the recall. They are going to replace all the wiring for the ignition/kill switch, etc. My Thrux is having problems...a spark plug issue that is now hitting a lot of the late year 07 Thruxtons...so I'm keeping my Daytona out of the shop. Evidently, if you don't use the kill switch, you'll be ok. Keep crossing my fingers every time I take it out. Will let you know when I know more...

I opened the headlamp to reinspect all my work for the indicator and bracket changes, couldn't see anything instanly amiss apart from a bundle of connectors not secured withing those flexible retaining clips. I rejigged, rearranged, shut it all up and mysteriously the problem seems to have vanished. Oddness on toast... I'm still driving around with European 10 amp surplus fuse mountain in my pocket mind. Finger's crossed. I was wondering if a loose connector block would cause such a problem. Wierd...
