On it, not in it...
Yeah, greetings from Queensland , Australia!
When I first saw the Thruxie, I thought someone had done a real good restoration on a Bonnie, or maybe it was a Norton. I immediately parked my
S60 Volvo (not kidding ya) and jumped out to investgate. A week later I was in the dealership lining up for a test ride. I have to hand it to the sales rep, he didn't bat an eye when I told him my last bike was a 69 BSA Lightning, which I had bought new. (that Beezer would do the standing 1/4 in 12.4 sec
/108mph in 3rd gear which was OK in 68!) and the next minute I'm astride the Thruxie, but taking it pretty easy.
Now, I read the thread about the rider feeling that he was 'on the bike, rather than part of it' This describes exactly how I felt, and this, combined with the narrowness of the clip-ons made it a bit of a 'high-wire' experience, especially at low speeds. Has anyone done a seat lowering exercise on it; like , 40 or 50 mm? Yeah you guessed it, I'm a short-ass as well as being a loopy 60 year old getting back in the saddle for some real fun...

This MAS seat is pretty much right down on the rails. You could also have the thrux seat redone by a local shop.

Gusso, In a pinch you could put some Bonnie shocks on her, there 're about 20mm shorter.
Where in QLD are you?
