New 07 Thruxton owner

Hello all,
New member, new rider... took some groveling but I bought a new 07 black and White Thruxton this week. The weather was nice enough in Indianapolis, IN to put a couple of miles on it today and I was smiling from ear to ear.

While I wanted to login and share my joy I also have a concern... My rear view sight.

With the stock mirrors, I could not see past my shoulders and arms no matter how I adjusted them. Being a new rider this concerns me. While I know about side bar mirrors from a good friend who has a Ducati 750 montser, I was curious as to the opinons of other Thruxton riders about which mirrors they prefer that do not stick out super far and give you the best reas sight possible. I will take better sight over extension, but if there is a happy medium I am interested to know.

Thank You all, and I look forward to conversing with everyone.

bar end mirrors are the answer to your problem, I've got napoleon's and I've not had any clearance issues with them.

Hey! I've got that same bike! Nice!

I just got napoleon Bar End Mirrors, and they are outstanding for the rearward view. They are a bit wide, so if you're planning on splitting lanes, they're probably too big. Try CRG mirrors instead. They're pretty tiny, and are tight to your bar-ends.

Thanks! That is two votes Napoleon... Yea, no splitting lanes in Indiana. So wide is ok, I just did not want awkward wide.

Thanks, like I said. I was smiling from ear to ear the whole time I was riding yesterday. Jumped out of bed like it was Christmas morning only to find rain. So no miles today.

here's mine with the napoleons on, mind you I've got the drag bar on as well, same angles just no rise to it.

rgood-

first off, welcome. second, excellent choice as it is the same choice i made.

bar ends are the answer for form and function. the naps are very popular and the traditional choice but crg makes a nice bar end mirror that folds. i know you said that you are not worried about clearance but the folding feature has come in handy more times than i would have ever thought. the naps mostly come in chrome and the crg hindsight comes in black.

do a search on the forum and you will find lots of info.

have fun with your new machine.

Congrats on the purchase. I'm ordering a pair of crg bar end mirrors tonight. I've done a lot of research and toggled between the crgs and napoleon style mirrors for at least three weeks now.
This is my first mod too... I don't even want to think about how long it'll take me to decide on the fek and so forth.

Thank you for all of the welcomes and information!

I imagine this will be my only mod for awhile... other than maybe taking off the front reflectors, they look pretty silly and not so sure they even have a functional purpose. Position and size would assume that they are not so "reflective".

In my opinion this bike looks great stock considering the one short ride I till today and 2 days ago had some folks breaking theor necks to get a better look see. You know... I cannot help but think that some red on this bike would just look excellent. IT HAS BEGUN!
