I think all you header wrappers should outright bash anyone who wants to ceramic coat their pipes.
Fair's fair.
Go ahead and wrap your pipes dude, if you like the look then there's no reason to change your mind. That being said, if people only bought things because they looked good, we wouldn't be seeing so many PT Cruisers and jap bikes on the road and that AWFUL Pontiac Aztek would've never been made.
When/if the pipes rust out in a couple years you can get new ones, or better yet, MAKE new ones. Who cares what the mob says?

Yeah, I have gaiters, so what do I know about ugly?
Go your own way! I appreciate that we do so many different things to personalize these bikes.

I appreciate all of the great incite, and do realize it does come down to personal taste with most mods that are appearance based.
I just want to limit the stainless/polished steel look. I prefer the "Blacked-out" look ,and plan on going that route. Not sold on the wrap yet though ?
I would like to see a few members pixs !!!

....well that wasn't so hard. while we are at it here is another from the same day different angle. the pipes are from brit customs and the mirrors are crg lane splitters. right now i'm working on the fender eliminator from brit customs and relocating the turn signals. now that i have figured out how to post pics i will post more when finished with current mods. bike is currently at donelson cycles in st. louis having oil changed and fork seals are being replaced under warranty so i'm having them do triumph gaitors as well as race tech progressive fork springs while they have the front end apart.
by the way, does anyone know if i'm creating a handling problem by just doing the progressive fork springs and nothing else suspension-wise or is it just going to help take out some of the brake dive like i'm figuring? i did some research on this forum about the fork springs and i wasn't picking up that the prog. fork spring was a big game changer. i'm only doing it because they have the front end apart already. have i created a suspension mod money mess?

Whats wrong with "Rat Bikes". I don't personally have one but I love me a Rat-Rod. If one wants to wrap the pipes thats cool in my book. The whole chrome only thing is getting kind of old anyway. The rough look is cool.

if you search back thru my posts you'll see mine with wraps (I can't access photobucket from work or I'd post the link...)
Bottom line - Do it and see if you like it. Not a big gamble if you get it installed and decide you hate it.

Hey DD , is that 2" wrap on your bike ? Did you apply anything to the wrap (Silicone) ?
Is there any truth that you should soak your wrap in water before install ?

Dirtydutch, changing the front springs can only improve things. No worries about not doing the back at the same time.

Also look at JC Whitney for the tape.
