I have ridden over the bridges out of Manhattan a few times and the winds have almost blown me off the bike. The cross-gusts (if that's even a word) are really a killer. Throw in the grooves in the road and it's quite the exciting time. I tend to just ride the tank as much as I can in these situations... reduce the surface area. I should probably lose some weight too..that might help.

I also have a 07 Thrux and two weeks ago I had some HUGE side winds but I relaxed and tucked in a little and no problems other than weaving from side to side a few feet! (Or so it felt like it)

This advice worked for me (on a G650XCountry) yesterday. Thanks so much.
