Hey all,

Trying to weather an Iowa winter here. Hate it. Anyway, my garage is small and moist and I've noticed some corrossion starting on the pipes. Not a big deal since they are factory and I plan on replacing them. I've since put plastic baggies over the end. I've also noticed some signs of corrosion under the clear coat on some parts. This concerns me more. In fact, I comptemplated moving the bike inside my house because I'm a little fanatical about it. But, doing something like that might peg me as eccentric when I bring a date to the house (weirdo might be the term she would use when she talked to her girlfriends about it later). Sure, the Fonz could get away with it, but most of us mere mortals must adhere to a different set of rules. How did he get that bike up a flight of stairs anyway?

So, I'm looking for some kind of bare metal protector I can spray on. Any recommendations?

I don't Know but that guy in the 80's DanTana? the one that drove his red 57 t-bird into his house each day - he got all the babes. As far as corrosion preventative - I've had great luck using wax and polishes on my chrome, aluminum, and iridated pieces. JCW

I use, like a lot of people over here, Scottoil 365 anti corrosion spray, and it really does do what it says on the label.
Been using it all winter and not a spot of rust on the bike.

In the aviation sector, a product called " ACF50" is widely used for corrosion protection. (Apparantly the US Navy uses the stuff by the gallons on all of their aircraft carrier's planes)

I bought a couple of aerosol cans and have coated just about all of my bike. It dries clear without leaving any residue or evidence of use. Claimed to last up to 2 years from time of application?

I would think that any small airport with at least one workshop hanger would be able to either direct you to a source or possibly have some that you could purchase.
