I haven't introduced myself properly yet but wanted to respond to this thread. I picked up a 2005 Thruxton in OKC about two weeks ago. The bike has 4250 miles on it. I started freaking out about all these posts about registering it in CA. I talked to a friend at the AAA and she said don't worry about it, "that's why you pay your AAA dues." Went down to the local AAA office and within 30 minutes had a plate and registered CA bike!! Absoultely no problems at all. The bike does have a USEPA sticker but nothing about CARB. They didn't even look for it or ask. My suggestion is to take your bike to a AAA office. I think they are a lot more lax about the 7500 miles. YMMV
I will upload some pics of the my bike when I get a chance to take some decent pics.
