Year: '04 Thruxton
Color: matt black
Mileage: 7,700
Overall Rating: Pumped
Modifications: I recently bought the bike and the previous owner did: Airbox removal, new exhaust (he had D&D pipes but said they were too loud, I doubt that and will probably switch back), bar end mirror, fork boots (most mods for steez).
Problems: Weeping a lot of oil. Could be from not running for a while. I changed out a gasket and seems to be better.
Reasons for loving it: First bike, and it kicks ass! It is a great way to be introduced to bikes, I say go for it. And there is plenty I plan on doing with it, mod wise, and it seems like a good bike to mess around with.
Peace,
Mantooth

Center Stand, Factory Bar End Mirrors, Tank Bag, Fork Gators, Fly Screen, Union Jack Tank Cover.
Stock Motor, Carbs and Blue Pipe Air Injection Intact. (I Like Blue too)
5'11" twofiddy
My right wrist over a good 200 miles hurt a tiny bit! The O ring cruise control all but fixed that. And the seat is a bit of a pain inner thighs, But backing off the tank a bit seems to help there. Overall I could not be more happy with my new Thruxton. I thought I got a lot of comments on my Sprint... Future mods will include Black Coated Headers and Mufflers, Ikon Black Shocks, Tires... Would like to know what works good on it!
Fuel Range is 105 to 125 before reserve 38 to 42 mpg
Love The Looks, The Riding Position, Sound And Respect of A true Cafe Racer.

First impressions are the best. I love the bike, love the way it feels and handles. I know I do not have enough time on it to make a great review, but so far, LOVE IT. Plus, it matches the car.
Have not had it long enough to find any dislikes yet.
Overall: A+
Ego: what is better than an A+?

Color: the correct colour - Black
Mileage: 480
Overall Rating: almost excellent [see review]
Modifications: Predator exhaust, fender eliminator
Owner Height/Weight: 6'1" 220
Problems / Resolutions: Bike would cut off intermittently from time of delivery. Finally resolved by dealer replacing faulty ignition coil.
Owner Review: Overall - SWEET!!! Negatives, front suspension [imho should've been inverted, but then where's the retro?] Will be swapping out the rear tyre for a 180 and considering a dual front disc and inverted fork setup VERY VERY SOON. Will re-gear the bike (sprockets) within the next week.
BTW, I'm getting 44+ mpg.

Just managed to join, I have had my 2007 Red Thruxton for 6 weeks now and LOVE it....!!!! So sweet and fun to ride.
Mods so far...
TORS.... mellow sound with a bark.
Bar end mirror from Halycon which I had for a vintage bike but looks perfect on the T. In fact had the Triumph ones on from new but the Halycon looks so much more pukka...and easy to install just remove the internal clamp and buy a allen headed SS bolt.

Gaiters.
Mods sat next to me waiting to get home are,
Bellacorse airbox removal kit with rejet.
19 tooth sprocket (I do a far bit of fasr road riding)
Rear light from BC and alloy small indicators.
IKON 7614 alloy gas shocks.
Hagon front fork springs.
There has been a fair bit of criticism about the clip ons and hard seat but I find them fine especially as I have a bad back and no ass....!!! No worries even on a 400 mile trip to see the factory in pouring rain.
Good luck to you all....

Owner Review:
I purchased this bike new a few weeks ago (and it's been pretty much raining since). Traded in my 84 Suzuki GR650, which I owned for 8 years. I'd been wandering from shop to shop looking at new bikes for several months not quite sure what I wanted. I had toyed with the idea of converting my GR into a cafe but was quickly reminded by my wife that I have two furniture pieces that I've been in the process of restoring for the past two years.
I'd done a bit of research on the T100 and figured that I should find a dealer to take a closer look. The only dealer in the Maritimes is in a very small town about a 30 min drive from Halifax. I went into their showroom, and was immediately drawn to the Thruxton - jumped on it, kicked the stand out the way, had my wife hold the back end steady, and got into riding position. Loved the way it felt. I then proceeded to check out the Bonnie's, sat on them, and constantly kept looking over at the Thrux. Apparently they brought the bike in in late '05 figuring it would sell. They told me that most people in loved it, sat on it, talked about it, then proceeded to but another model.
Went home, did some more research, went back a few days later and purchased it without a test ride for a great price (and a great trade value for the GR). The bike just felt right to me.
I am still working the break in period which has been very difficult. Not long now.
Complaints / Issues: some sore wrists, particularly at slow speeds. I tend to put a lot of weight on my arms when I ride but have found that squeezing the tank with my knees and stiffing up my lower back a bit takes much of the pressure off my arms. Also, I've noticed a bit of minor bar vibration when running in the 40 tp 50 kph range when stuck in traffic (just enough to create a buzz in my hands). Nothing that can't be dealt with.
All in all, I am very pleased with it. It has great looks (have received many many head turns); enough speed and power to have fun with but not enough to get me in serious trouble.
Cheers

Riding position
No full review, but my Thruxton is exactly what i was after.
(I have kept the TL1000s for "that kind" of riding.)
Basic mods to the Thruxton at this stage, and repaired a broken spoke...
I was also concerned about weight on my wrists on longer trips, but fitted the tank pads and they work really well for me. They make the tank just a bit wider and grippy enough to hold on.

20,000 (s)miles report
A little over 3 years and 20,000 miles later, I like this bike more now than I did when I bought it.
I've had zero problems. I change the oil, I change the tires (Burn them up with great frequency) & I go!
