My beautiful Thruxton
Howdy all,
Just wanted to say hello and tell everyone that I am the proud new owner of an 05 Triumph Thruxton 900.
I didnt even know this bike existed a month ago until I saw one sitting out front of my local bike shop. It was yellow and when I saw it I thot to myself **** thats the coolest bike I have ever seen but i thot it had to be to expensive. I then found one at a nearby Triumph shop for a little over 5k with only 1800 miles and bought it that day.
I have always been in a hard group bike wise. I dont like Harleys and I dont like sport bikes. I have always liked naked bikes and owned a couple, but there are few choices that i liked. I looked at the Monster but I heard the Ducs are hell on maintenance costs and parts. SO this bike was perfect.
Now I have a few questions for you experts out there. Anything I should know up front about this bike such as suspenesion concerns, maintenance etc? And on that note how are maint. costs on triumphs? I have been reading that they are quality bikes, can anyone confirm?
Anyway nice to see you all here and I am **** proud to be a triumph owner. Heres a pic of my new love.

Dig into the search part of this site and you will find zillions of mods and how to do them! Triumphs' twins are really sweet bikes-easy to care for, fun to modify ,easy to ride and they are without a doubt the most Beautiful motorcycles ever made!! I just ordered another one! 08 red Thruxton!!

Congrats, and welcome! You're right the Thruxton is the coolest bike on the road! You're gonna love it!
The only problem I've ever had with mine is not enough time on it! I've only put 5100 miles on it in a year...bummer huh?

You got very lucky, Sweat's right you've already got a few mods like rear fender gone, turn signals, decal on forks I couldn't make out probably fork worked on, flyscreen, probabaly airbox removed and jetted........you came out like a bandit! Welcome to rock star status and an exclusive club.

Welcome to the family, mate! Kudos on the black thrux. They're the fastest of all the colours, you know.

Welcome and congrats on your new bike. As for service, factory and aftermarket parts can be a bit spendy but many of us offset that by doing a lot of the work ourselves.

Where you from Nimmy? Check around for a RAT Pak in your area and watch for (hopefully) some RAIDs nearby.
