Suspension mods...

Which should I do first, rear springs/shocks, or fork springs? Or does it matter which is first? Or do I need to do both at the same time?

Help...

do both if you can or rear first
Ikon's are a good value for money option

Rear 1st. I fitted the Ikons. I have not needed to change the springs in the forks. Fitting a Norman Hyde steering damper and fork brace transformed the front end for me.

I have not changed the rear ones yet, but I can tell you that changed the fronts to progressives made a world of difference for me.

On a Thrux a definite is to adjust the front forks to your own personal ajustment . The stock front forks are actually pretty good . The rear springs on the other hand are yet to be desired . But with both front and rear properly adjusted you just might like the way it rides . And with it tuned to your weight and riding style it'll make a world of difference in handling compared to when you rolled it off the showroom.

Rear first, I guess.

Thanks for the input...I guess I'll go with the rears fist then...Unless Uncle Sam is really nice at tax time. I used to wonder why everyone complained about the Thrux's suspension, then I got the FJR. Now I understand. I don't expect to get the Thrux to handle like a sport bike, but a little less pressure on the bars to lean would be nice. Is an upgrade gonna do that? I'd hate to blow $750 and not really see the results I'm after. This is all still pretty new to me.

I'm going with the Ikon fork springs first. Affordable, and forks are a bigger problem on the Thrux for me, probably because I weigh more than others who posted. I'll go with Ikon shocks soon, but want to change one thing at a time to learn the difference.

+1 on doing front forks first Dave. Most of my riding is at high speed and the forks take a heck of a dive under braking. My honey got me a fork emulator kit from Race Tech for Christmas and I'll will be putting it together this week-end if it makes it in tomorrow. I'm still up in the air whether to go Ikons, Hagons, YSS, or Works on the rear. Either choice, money wise, will be a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
