Question My 07' Thruxton 900 idles to high at 3000 rpm

Can someone inform me on how to get my bike to idle at a lower rpm.
I thought it was because I added the D&D pipes, but I'm not sure. If there's a way to do it myself without taking it to the shop that would be koolness.
Thx Rats

I don't mean to be insulting here but you know about the idle adjustment knob on the left side under the carbs right?

First time on a triumph. The dealership didn't give me much info. No offense taken. Need as much info as possible on this type of bike. I'm coming from Kawas' to Cafe style!

Is this 3000 rpm with the choke on? When I start mine, I put the choke on. It idles slowly as it warms up, but if I leave it idling and let it warm up a long time with the choke on, the idle rpm will climb to over 3000. I forgot the choke on one time and thought something was wrong with the bike for a second until I remembered the choke... Mine has all stock carb/airbox setup.

Could be that the pipe has leaned the mix. With the bike warmed up, let it settle into the idle, then adjust the idle adjustment screw on the front/bottom of the carb to get the highest idle. Then back the idle speed down with the black knob on the left side. Adjusting the mixture takes a special tool with a D shape, which you can make from a piece of tubing.....the trick is somewhere on this site. I changed to a set of adjusting screws with knobs, much easier.

This shows the beauty of forums like this. Here is someone just getting into the Triumph fold, and elsewhere on this site you'll find people trying to figure out how to keep a crank from exploding on a 200HP turbo Bonne! Just great!
