Wanted to start a thread about availability of parts/accessories for the new 1200 models. Please post with what you have ordered, if it has arrived or when you expect it to, and any photos you have. Thanks.
I ordered the dual comfort seat (A2304076) and passenger footrests (A9778041) for my 2016 Thruxton R. Dealer and Triumph USA tell me they are back-ordered but expected to be available May 20 in the UK, so will arrive to the US about 2 weeks later.
I made an inquiry of the availability of the LowRider seat and was told $300, mid-July. There's an experienced and renowned motorcycle seat maker in Albany Oregon (10 miles from me) he used my pan and cover, doing a beautiful job, lowering the seat height more than an inch for $250. Downside is I no longer have the OEM seat - Upside is didn't have to wait 3 months and spent $50 less.
I ordered shift linkage for my Thruxton R (T2081557 $18.99) from a Triumph dealer near Portland Oregon and is should be here in 10 days - so... parts can be here pretty fast. Accessories, maybe not.
I ordered the passenger footrests (P/N 9778041) back in March, and received them last week. I also ordered the knee pads (P/N 9798017). My dealer had the pads in stock as they are a multi-fit accessory.

I bought the same things but no time of delivery.
I used my paddock stand bobbins off my Street, same part number. :grin2:
I didn't feel like taking the time to find images of the accessories I ordered & installed on mine, so I'll just re-post a video I put on YouTube about 3 days ago. (It's nothing great, but at least you see them on a bike, in real like.)
List of parts bought & installed myself with basic tools are (all Triumph, so far):
* Short Flyscreen - Matte Black - w/Mounting Kit
* Headlamp Bezel - From the T120 Black editions
* LED Short Indicator Kit - All 4
* Bar-End Mirror - 'Oval' style - Black - Left-hand side only
* Oil Filler Cap - Black
* AGC & Clutch Badges - Brushed Ribbed
* Head Bolt Cover Kit - Black
* Intake Cover Kit - Black
* Knee Pad Kit
** I am still awaiting the arrival of the Low Handlebar Kit & Stealth Sprocket Kit - 42t. Ordered both months ago. Dealer said about two more weeks. But I don't think they really know.
- If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Best of luck to all those with a new 1200cc. Cheers.
Any pics of that comfort seat on your bike? I've been tossing and turning about this seat for a while now but it's tough to gauge the actual color of the seat with the factory produced pics on their website.
@tumbleweeds78 ... No, the kit does not. If you also want the OEM Triumph LED indicators, then you also need to order part # A9838039.
Ps... I have a BRAND NEW set of that exact part number. I will sell you them for $60 bucks (that's half price)... I have them because I bought two sets of them for the rear AND the front of my bike. Not realizing I had to buy part # A9838023 for the front... (Which are the exact same blinkers, just with longer wires, to reach into the back of the headlight bucket.) I took them out of the box and was putting them on my bike, that's when I realized something was wrong. I still have the box in perfect condition, and the two new hex-bolts are still sealed in the little baggie... Just PM me if your interested. They look a million times better on the rear standard fender as well. But you may still want to buy the fronts to go along with these, eventually. Cheers.
will keep you posted... nothing has arrived yet... and boy is my lady pissed about it. Wants to experience the new bike and is growing impatient. Yeah, she's a keeper...
thanks for posting that. i've been looking for those damn footrests forever. when i try to search bike bandit without the part number it doesn't show 2016 thruxton so i kept coming up empty. ordered now. thanks again.
UPDATE: my rear pegs arrived but are unfortunately not the ones I thought I had ordered. If you have a Thruxton R model, you need to order the sport pegs if you want them to match the front. The ones I have shown in post #1 of this thread are a dark gray color and are larger. Being impatient, I just decided to pick up a matching front set and the clutch peg that my dealer had in stock so I at least have some commonality between the parts. That said, my rear brake lever will still be the machined color silver.
This Triumph parts situation is just plain annoying.
I'm not seeing ALL the accessories there... When I select Thruxton 1200, I'm not seeing the dual comfort seats, any of the passenger pegs or footrests, etc.
Ordered a fairing for the 2016 Thruxton R when bike was delivered back in March. Still not received. Dealer tells me that availability is unknown. Anyone have a clue on how Triumph could totally blow projections on this accessory after creating such a great machine?
Tank bag for the bike was available and shipped in 4 days.
:kaboom
I ordered Black Stealth sprocket 42t, Low Handlebar Kit, and have been waiting for someone in the UK to get a Fender Kit for my R...
This was all in like January... My dealer here in the US kept giving me two dates... First was the 6th of this month for a primary shipment of parts... including my low clip-ons... (Hopefully they call soon.) And another June 24th... This is the "Large" shipment coming to North America, that should include my Black Sprocket... Also, I got these same dates from a dealer in the UK that I have been annoying for months about the Fender Kit...
Well, they got ONE Fender kit in on the 7th... And they e-mailed me saying they won't expect any more until the 24th, and asked me if I wanted to buy it. (Probably because they are sick of me, Ha!) So I paid for it this afternoon as soon as I could! (Woo-Hoo!)
So, since everything seems sort of common with dates everywhere... I would say there will be a lot of the items available on the week of the 24th... So keep an eye out... Remember, they supposedly go to all the existing back-orders first... So I would call your dealer today to see if their computer shows anything different... Otherwise, probably nothing new until the 24th... Hope that helps some people, somewhat. (Even though I know it doesn't. Ha!)
UPDATE: OK, I just called my dealer... and just like she said, my clip-ons hit the North America warehouse on the 6th... And are in transit to the dealer, and to expect them around Tuesday next week... That's great!!! And the Sprocket is still expected the week of the 24th... This is a good sign for people waiting for items to be in stock, that haven't been available thus far!
I don't have the part number but if you want the silver ones that match the front, you want the "sport pegs" in the catalog. There are 3 sets and the ones called "sport" are the ones that match and also come on the Street/Speed Triple bikes.
Just got a call from my dealer that my fairing (silver ice) has arrived and is ready to be picked up. I placed the order back in March so it looks like the accessories are finally making its way out of the factory.
Anyone have any pics or feedback on the clip on handlebar adapters for the thruxton r? I am contemplating lowering mine or flipping them but want to see what these are like also. Thanks
I literally JUST got home from my trek back from the dealer to pick this accessory up! It requires a 38mm socket or wrench for the top-yolk nut to be taken off... I found one on eBay for $20, and it's supposed to be here this week!
Anyways, as soon as that comes in, I plan on posting a before & after picture from the side, and from the view of sitting on the seat... I figure that way one can see the difference in how they are supposedly more narrow to the fuel tank as well... And then a brief opinion and how much more uncomfortable it has or has not become.
Ps... I'll probably post that, assuming all goes well, in the thread called "What did you do to your water cooled twin today".
@retjustdad53 ... I actually want the lower Clip-Ons. (I'm coming from a Daytona 675 that I was very accustomed to.) And I'm only running a Triumph Body-Colored Short Screen. So I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure, in regards to stock Clip-On risers with Full Fairing.
However... From what I have seen, read, and heard... The stock risers are compatible with the Full Fairing... And it just clears lock-to-lock... Again, I don't know personally, but I did see detailed pictures someone uploaded on this forum somewhere about two weeks ago, claiming and demonstrating that it worked just fine.
