OK, I did it. No way to justify it other than I wanted to and may not be able to later so just "add it on to the total cost of living" and do it!!

While I live in the Ottawa, Ont., Canada area we are in the middle of winter and lots of snow so I've left the bike with the dealer to store until the spring. And now I'm spending my time attempting to learn more about the bike and some of what others feel are worthwhile "tweaks" from the stock factory setup. For $$ reasons some such as better working exhaust megaphones may have to wait a year or two, I can suffer. But a couple of other things do come to mind, especially if there are easy HP gains to be had.

I see info on the Air Injection removal, comments please???

Likewise with the AirBox Removal ???

And yes a fly catcher and bar end mirrors will be on the way when I can decide which option is the best.

Any and all comments and suggestions appreciated.

Thanks folks!
Mike

Mike,
Welcome to the Thruxton owner ranks!
There are ALOT of guys (and gals) on here with a world of interesting and informative mods.
What I have learned here and my personal experiences:
The Air Injection kit is good to keep your pipes from turning blue (on most applications) but is no performance gain.
If you search the threads in Twin Talk and here, you can find a number of guys that have taken thier Thruxtons to the maxx (Thruxtonone and JCW come to mind). There are alot of jetting tips, info on airbox removal vs. uni-filters, and ALOT of information on the different exhaust options.
Happy searching and welcome to the club!
Here is one of the threads:

Congrats and welcome. The best thing you can do now is go to page one of the Club Cafe forum and read every post and then go to page one of the Twins forum and do the same. There are a lot of good ideas and most of your questions will already be asked and answered in previous posts. Search NewBonneville.com and the Bella Corse web sites for what is available for Thruxtons.

Check what I did to my bike by going to my Photo Album below. By the way, I removed the Air injection system, coated my pipes with Kreem Blue Shield and added a air box eliminator and jettting to my carbs before I even started my engine. If you are handy and like to work on your bike, go ahead and pick the bike up from the dealer and do all of this in the winter. Be sure to get a service manaual.

First before you even ride it is get the Air Injection removal kit from newthruxon.com on my way home I hit a moth with my pipe and "blued" it in permanently and it looks so much better and is very cheap compared to exhaust which were my second and best mod yet
