Yesterday I installed the South Bay Predator stainless exhaust- very nice quality and a deep mellow sound. Also istalled the South bay air box eliminator - aluminum construction - perfect fit. Installed K&N filters, stainless carb screws, stainless manifold clamps, and rejetted the carbs.

I added the Hagon Nitro shocks - back now lowered 12mm and the front is lowered 25mm. I installed a Monza alloy cap, and stripped and polished the brake and shift pedals. Installation of all parts was very straight forward with no major problems encountered. It did take some scrounging through all the tools to come up with the right combo to jet the carbs with out removal. One carb bolt stripped and I had to cut a slot in it with the dremal tool and used a large flat blade screw driver to remove the damaged screw. I was lucky it was a screw on top of the carb.

This took most of the day so only a short test ride was to be had. First impression is the new rear shocks, while still not set up are a huge improvement. Very nice ride. Second the jetting is still not right - will be getting mores jets and shims this week. But the power improvement is there! The bike now pulls the front wheel off the ground 10-12 inches when opening up the throttle in first gear. An entirely new habit for my Thruxton which would never pull the wheel off the ground prior to the mods. It got up to an indicated 115 mph with ease, sitting bolt upright - no tuck required. Today looks like another beautiful one - time to go riding!

Thanks Guys,

Travis I don't have a video camera for a sound bite, but will try and borrow one. The pipes sound really good. Very quiet, but deep, tone at idle. I ran the bike with open pipes, no mufflers, and it was LOUD! The predators at 6000 plus RPM's are about a 6.5 - 7 on a scale of 10 with 10 being the open pipes. At lower rpm's the pipes have a smooth deep mellow sound, not raspy, and very clean and smooth sounding when the throttle is closed, no back firing or popping. I'm very happy with them. I've looked at many options including custom made, but really the original style of 2 reverse cones, one on each side is hard to beat for my own personal taste. I like the Predators because they are a little shorter than stock, the large exhaust openings, polished stainless, and now the great sound. I'll try and work on a sound video. I just got back from a 2 hour ride (reached an idicated 125 MPH) and I'm ready to go again! These Thruxtons are a blast to ride!

Very nice. I can tell you've put in a lot of work and results are excellent.
The rear opening on those pipes is huge! Compared to the stock pipes, it is no wonder the stock pipes sound like a Bunny farting.

I like the no fender look. The tail light and license plate holder are trick. The English registration plate is a good idea. Is that where you are putting your inspection sticker?

Are you running the stock countershaft and rear sprokets?

Nice pipes! Are the gaiters triumph parts or the BMW ones?

Thanks Again. The gaiters are the BMW models from Bella Corse. Bike has stock sprockets but I may add a tooth or 2 to the rear. I do most of my riding in twisty mountain roads, and tend to avoid freeways. Haven't decided what to do with the English tax holder (also Bella Corse) - we need no inspection in GA. My wife thinks I'm crazy every time she comes out to the garage the "new" bikes in pieces. JCW

Beautiful Thruxton! What is that brake light that you have on there? I like it a lot. I haven't really considered fender removal so much as fender cut and mod due to the choices I've seen for a rear light but I do like yours a lot. Thanks for the pictures.
