Hello all!
I bought my '07 Tornado red Thruxton about one month ago, after going to the dealer to look for a orange cream Bonnie that I had seen there.
Talk about first impressions!
The wallet is a little lighter, my wrists are a litle bit more sore and the bike causes neck injuries to those who double take a look at it...life is good!
To add some personal info here:
I have spent the last eight years working at the local Harley dealership and riding pigs...er...hogs, so I took care of THAT part of one of my childhood dreams. Now I am spinning wrenches for our local military base and I am on a Triumph. That helps complete my childhood fantasies about riding motorcycles...Harleys and Triumphs were the only acceptable rides when I was a lad...dreams DO come true!
My previous bikes were (in order):
1984 Honda CE-400 that I spruced up with the cafe treatment.
1999 Suzuki Bandit
2000 Harley Sportster 883 that I tried to Cafe.
2001 Harley Softail Standard
2001 Buell X1 Lightning
2005 Harley FLHTI
2007 Triumph Thruxton
Yeah...I have had the run of the mill between cruiser and cafe...I just cannot seem to get over the point where I want to sit high and hunched and whisper taunts to corners. I am all too happy to carve the road on tall naked bikes that evoke my earliest memories and dreams. I'll plug along on a cruiser when I am an old man...say 70 years old...that gives me over thirty years of wicked pleasure on real bikes to experience in my future!
So, here I am again causing havoc with my old Harley crowd, breaking away from that herd and making most of them shake their beards in wonder while twisting the necks of the new hooligan sportbike crowd as I sweep in among them to show them that old does not mean slow or stupid.
Yup...I am very much alive and in love with being on this new ride.
See ya 'round the corner, take care!

Hi, thought I'd say "Hi", I've posted on the NBF for years, used to call by here now and again but lost my contact details when a PC died, so I've re-registered.
I've got an 04 thruxton, somewhat modified and think it is the best thing on two wheels.....and as some already know, I'm the person behind Jenks Bolts. So if you have questions about things to do to a Thruxton, feel free to ask!

Hey, I am riding an 04 thruxton, with a few mods, in the Boulder, CO area. Anybody else with thruxton, or triumphs for that matter, want to go riding? Take it easy. Mantooth.

I had a centerstand on my '72 Norton Commando, I rode it that way for a year. It was a pain in the butt and didn't do anything I couldn't do with a motocycle lift, so I tossed it and installed a sidestand. Still some metal to carry around, but at least I wasn't dragging it around corners.

My girlfriend has a bonnie, so i been riding both. I guess u will experience that the thruxton is a harder ride. But the feeling is great and the smile i not long away when u ride it. You will grow horn with the Thruxton. Ride safe

Have a Black Bonnie, shortened low black cafe bars, bar end mirrors, shorty front fender, seat scowl, sprint mufflers, fork gaiters and tank knee pads.... removal of the rear fender is next!
and of course a Ace Cafe sticker on the side!!!
Almost at a Cafe Racer status i hope!

I picked up my Thruxton late june 07 and love it . Within a short time I put on the TORS, Tank pads, Air Injection Removal ( Newbonneville.com) Oil temp and pressure gauge , and all the little widgets like the Union Jack Choke knob, Throttle adjuster , and clutch cover . Also think I am the only Thruxton I've seen with messenger bags ( sportclassic touring) . Love this bike . Next I'm wrapping the pipes . Was going to ceramic coat but wrapping the pipes are the calling . True Cafe flave.

Hey all, I picked up my new Thruxton about 2 weeks ago and have loved every minute of it! I first saw one in Baltimore about 2 years ago and have wanted one ever since, dream come true. So far I have done the AI and bar end mirrors, I plan on changing pipes, airbox upgrade, rear fender removal kit, etc. Any other recomendations are welcome!
