Its off to the rolling road next Monday to see how the two types of velocity stacks perform.

I think I prefer the look of the open trumpets, but there is absolutely no engine protection. These may give more power and torque. We will see...

Those look wicked-cool Rob.

Does "rolling road" mean that they're for track use?

rolling road = dyno

Those stacks look sweeeeet! I'll go w/ the top one, actually I'll go with an air filter but that's just me.

They both look great. I guess the bare stacks look better, but I'd not take that chance with my engine.

Just so you know, shorter stacks help with midrrange, longer stacks help with top end, so unless you are racing go with the shorter stacks. Where are the mesh bellmouths from? Is there any filtering material in there?

Lookin good though.

No filtering material in either type. I've been out this afternoon with the shorter stacks fitted. The bike does seem to pull more strongly than with the K&N's pod filters.

I have now fitted the longer stacks and try these out with the butt dyno.

I know what you are saying, but I am prepared to take the risk. If the worst happens it will be an excuse to fit a big bore kit

just remember that you will have to be extra careful about rain because water does not compress. you could get away with dirty air but not water.

they look cool but if you ride in dusty roads your engine will be junk in no time at all, they are for race track only.will mess valves up bad.

Visual improvement now with stainless steel clamps replacing the horrid gold clamps supplied with the manifolds.
