New guy here checking in.
Been riding bikes since I was five and currently have a TLR and GSXR 750 for the track.
I found this site while looking for information on the Thruxton.
I can't get this bike out of my head. I'm 35 and have been thinking it may be time to get out of the sport bike scene before I lose my license.
Just thought I'd say hello. I've been poking around and reading up as much Thruxton info as I can get.
Ryan
Hey Ryan - get a Thrux - you won't regret it. Don't know if it will really help you keep your license - I pass sport bikes all day long in the twisties - but at least you won't be getting tickets for doing 150 MPH in a 45 zone. There is a ton of modifictions you can do to one as well, great bike if you like to tinker, also a great bike if you don't like to tinker - just buy and ride. You'll draw comments and admirers every where you take the Thrux - people love to talk to you about them.
Unfortunately thrux ton up is right I tried the same thing buy buying a T100, yeah right a month ago I passed a ducati.
However you wont ever regret the purchase of a thrux, and the attention you get will be much more possitive than what you get on a sport bike.
You'll love the Thrux, I never had anyone stop to chat about my Honda  . A little mor erelaxed pace but it is not sluggish. aLOT of fun to ride, and I grin every time I look at it. I was in the same place you are, saw the Thruxton, couldn't stop thinking about it, gave in and bought one. You know you want to..............

Go test ride one at a dealer if you can, to see what all the fuss is about.
It's fun to ride at all speeds. Not just licence loosing speeds.
Grown men will want to talk about it wherever you park.
It's just waiting for you to customise/modify it.
I've not stopped modifying (or riding) mine since I bought it last September. This bike gives me more pleasure and fun than all the other bikes I have owned (or currently own).
Thrux-ton-up's bike is probably the trickest Thruxton here. Mine is it's poor relation on the other side of the pond. Here's a few photo's at variouse stages of modification for your viewing pleasure

Thanks for the replies men.
I actually did get to take one for a spin last summer.
It just a short ride (never met the guy before and he let me take his bike for a spin!)
But I loved it.
I'm thinking it may time for a change!!

My only problem is I'll have to sell the TL to get it and I'm attached to that bike.
I see you've got Ohlins on yours, got any more pictures?
Ryno, another cool thing about these bikes is the general acceptance by everyone because the Thrux and Bonnie don't really fit into a classification. I get approached by Harley guys and sportbike guys alike. I also meet some really nice non-bikers that I think would hesitate to strike up a conversation with someone on another type of bike. My Bonnie is cool without being intimidating and is an inviting conversation piece. And she can really lay it low in the corners when you want to. I get more and more hooked everyday.

X2 Could not have said it better myself. Yesterday I went to a Harley BBQ at a local dealership. I pulled in and parked next to a $45k custom chopper, I couldn't answer the questions fast enough.
