So i posted a little while back about an excess of oil coming from my crankcase filter, i still cant figure out how to post picks, so here is the link again, crankcase pic. It ended up that there was too much oil in the bike. I syphoned some out and rode around town for a while, and the bike was clean. I went for a long ride today, and not too far into the ride i noticed that there was the same buildup. First off, is this normal, it doesnt seem like it should be. Second off, is there somewhere else that i can direct the filter becuase the oil runs down the frame and all over my rear break. Thanks for any help.

I routed mine to the other side and bolted it to my airbox eliminator, I also put an upward sweep (u shape) in the hose so when I wash the bike or it rains and some water gets on the breather filter it will not trickle down to the crank case. Mine is now mounted over the chain, but it rarely leaks out any oil with the extended hose I now use. I used to have it on a very short hose and the breather was right under the carbs, with that short hose I always had an oil puddle on the engine cases below the breather filter.

It's not mounted yet in this pic, but its just to the left of the regulator, putting it just above the chain.

I had the same problem until I got a oil catch can from Bonneville Performance. It looks and works great, plus it comes with everything to install it! It is $120, which is an common price for one where ever you look, J&P cycles ect.

Here is the breather setup that I use on my S4. The breather hose goes to a "T" fitting with a breather filter on top. On the bottom of the "T" is an oil collection hose, which functions like a catch can. Just route the hose to a convenient place, and you pull the cap to drain it. The entire thing, filter, brass "T" and all, cost less than $20.
