If it runs good not likely any problems. If you had the choke on full rich or half rich, there was so much fuel in the exhaust that the pipes turned red (fuel burning in exhaust). This happens on cars also. I would check the oil for excess fuel contamination. If it smells of gas, change it. I will bet the pipes are alot more blue now :-D .

don't leave your bike running for 3 minutes stationary!!!

the bike will warm up as you're riding it, no need to run it for 3 minutes beforehand. It's an air cooled machine, no air=no cool!

probably no damage done, just not a good practice.

Be nice to your machine, warm it up before you ride off.

If you can sit at a light with your engine running in the summer then you can warm it up for a minute or two. You just might want to hang around wile doing it so you can close the choke as it warms.

I agree you should warm up your bike but as soon as it can idle without the choke turn it off.

You can let the bike warm up for longer than 3 min. The engine would stall if you just left the choke on and left it running. I've never seen anyones pipes turn red hot at idle ever. Something doesn't sound right.

Not letting the engine warm up will do FAR more damage than riding it without the oil up to temp. :brk:
