I've been riding my yellow thruxton for about two years now and I'm leaning towards getting a new paint job. I've seen tons of ppl here having it done but I've never had this done before. How much will a paint job run me for the gas tank, front fender, head lamp cover, side covers, rear seat cowl and the rims? I'm just looking to do gun metal grey and black.. nothing extravagant.

Btw, is anyone selling their original thruxton seat?

Get it painted in the winter, just ride. I guess $300-$600.

The paint on my bike was 800.00 - front fender, corbin smuggler, tank and side panels including pearl stripes and graphics installation. The other bonnie just had the tank painted - candy apple purple over a gold metalic base, white accent and gold pinstriping - 300.00

Hm, pretty good for what looks like a really good job.

Unfortunately for me I have seasonal allergies and I can't ride for the next 3 weeks. So I figured this was the time to do my upgrades and what nots.
Thanks for the info! Now I just need to shop around for a paint shop.

$800 sounds good, you get what you pay for. A good paint job ain't cheap, a cheap paint job ain't good!! I painted my Honda last year with a few graphics, very nice, $400. Maybe being cute or living in the South helps? IDK??

Don't look at pic. porfolio ask to see some work, look, feel the quality from the painter.

Buy some Benadryl, not riding Sux!!

Post some pics of your baby when you finish...

$800 that's a Deal and a half considering how awesome your bike looks John.

We have a local place here which is prolly the best in my area. They do incredible work and they wanted $1400 to paint my Thrux.

I went to a few other places mostly, auto body shops, and the cheapest quote I got was $1200.

I decided to ride today and took an additional pill!
Now my nose hasn't stop running since lunch time. I've already ran through 1 box of kleenex.. I'm definitely not riding for another 2 weeks

I've been asking around local body shops here and someone mentioned that baking process is required for motorcycle painting.. Is that true? Is this really necessary?

Does not need baked, it needs to be urethane two part epoxy paint so that it is impervious to gas spilling on it.-T1
