i don't want to come across as a schmuck w/my first post, but ..what the hell kind of wrench is used to remove the AI on a 07 thruxton? i've even tried my 13mm flair nut wrench and that didn't fit. will a deep socket fit over that tube?
btw... awesome site, anyone else from CT.

take a chisel or a fairly sharp flathead screwdriver and a hammer. At the base of the metal AI tube, gently but firmly cut it through with the screwdriver and hammer. It sounds crazy but it is very soft metal and wil cut through easily. Then you can get the socket in it. Its how I did it,

I just grabed the tube with a pair of plyers and turn it real gently. It crimped the tube slightly but its usable. If you wanted it in perfect condition you could buy a cheap wrench heat it with a torch and bend it over to fit

You'll soon get over this hangup. It only slows you down. Cut, chop, and move on. It's like cooking without making a mess, you can do it, but its not nearly as fun.

I got a wrench in there enough to break it loose and then grabbed the tube and twisted. It came out very easily.
