Thinking of getting a flyscreen or Dart screen for the Thruxton, could members please post ride impressions on these.

I like the fact that with the Thruxton, weight is taken off the wrists and arms at speeds of 60mph(100km/h), but whether a screen would negate this effect?

Also Tinking of getting LSL tour match bars as well, anyone got pics and ride impressions with these on a Thruxton.

Cheers..................Agro

I had the flyscreen on up until month or so ago.Took it off 'cos i lowered gauges and headlight. It smoothed the air flow but weight was still taken off at speed.I may sell it (black)

I have the Triumph flyscreen and the LSL bars. The combination works well for me. I'm tall (6'2") and most of my riding is commuting to-from work. The LSL bars are more comfortable for me and the type of riding I do.

I think the flyscreen does a fair job deflecting air up a bit. When I tuck down, I'm almost completely out of the wind. So, even though the bars are a bit higher, I can still get close to the tank and have my arms in a comfortable position.

However, when riding upright, the combination of the higher bars and the screen wind blasts my upper chest/shoulders at speed. So, any sustained speed over 60mph and you'll still be able to use the wind to help hold up your upper body.

You can see a few more pictures of the bars on my bike in my album.

Wind holding your body - What!

I guess once you learn to ride, your wrists dont hold your body up - at all, and if they do - check yourself...

I have the Thrux fly screen and it makes a world of difference on the highway.

I don’t really like the look of it so I only put it on if I know I'm going to be grinding away at speeds in excess of 65mph for a while.

The Dart looks very cool, I don’t have it myself but I have been considering it for a while. The clear Plexiglas looks far less substantial than the black Thrux one and doesn’t make the bike look so nose heavy.

I think the Thrux one might look a little better if I still had the rear fender on.

Guess I have not learnt anything in the 30 years Iv'e been riding cafe styled bikes with clip-ons, using bent elbows, gripping the tank with my knees and abs/stomach muscles supporting my weight!
A little wind pressure at speed certainly helps.

Afterall, the only bike I have owned with a screen is a Katana 1100, which I still have and ride on special occasions and that screen works great from 60mph to 160mph.

But we are all entitlled to our opinions and I reckon bikes with full fairings are for poofs!!

I have lowered the gauges as well. Does the screen fit with the lowered gauges?
How much you want for the screen?

Um - O.K.
If you have so much experience, then how do your wrists bother you?

As for windscreens, they can look great, its just that I have not seen any that look great so far for a Thrux. You may want to think about having someone fabricate a bra style for you, replicated from the 70's - 80's stylie, that is the way to go...

Not being a DICK - stop being a Bi-atch, I was just curios - LOL!

As for the bra - just spoke with one of my friends who fabricate race car parts, we could probably make you one out of carbon fiber, then paint it, I dont think it would be too much - bro deal...
