Stylistically, I like Benjie's version better. Which is not to say that I'd turn down that XR engine were it offered to me. :-D

Intresting intake setup, it looks like they took a front head and bolted it on to the rear jug. Nice job!

FUNNY MY BOSS JUST BOUGHT BACK A XR 1000 AND A 78 CAFE THAT WERE SOLD BY HIM BEFORE HE OWNED THE STORE. THE XR HAS 1800 MILES AND THE CAFE HAS 256 ILL TRY AND GET SOME PICS TOMORROW

Their was one year (~83-84) that HD offered a Sporty stock with this engine. I think it was a gray or gun metal color. Special model, etc (eye candy to get you into the dealership).

I asked Benjie a couple weeks ago about building me a tank/seat combo for my Bonnie and he said he couldn't do anything with it yet, but was about to get a Bonnie frame in his shop so he could start work on something.

I sent him an email of the same subject right after I started this thread. Didn't hear back from him though. Good to know he's getting pressure from other riders though.
