Ton-Up -
The wires that run outta the alternator can be re-routed underneath the engine and come up between the engine and swingarm and up the backbone of the frame, It makes the whole area under the carbs alot cleaner.
I did it after noticeing Triumph had changed the routing on the '06 models.
Looks good, can't wait till ya get to fire it up!
Here's a pic:

I put in new HD clutch springs, the hardest part of this project was scrapping the old gasket off the cover.
Chris - I saw your prior post on the wiring reroute and will check it out.
I cleaned up the front - I moved the regulator, moved the ignition, cut and smoothed the ignition brackets from the headlight mount, lowered the gauges under the top clamp, and flipped / reversed the headlight mounts to lower the headlight. The bundle of wires going forward to the headlight is 50% smaller now. I also split the entire harness and removed any thing I thought unnecessary (and maybe a few things that might have been-we'll see). The 2 remaining idiot lights (high beam and neutral) I mounted on top of the headlight. I had all the idiot lights stuffed in the shell after installing the oil gauge last year. I have moved enough ***** from the headlight I could put a smaller light in place of the 7 - but something about wanting to be seen by cages is giving me second thoughts.
New spring install done - I thought so until I started scraping old gasket material- took me 3 times longer than the spring install.
New regulator home.
New ignition switch location - had to splice and lengthen several wires to get it back here.

John -
Napa sells a spray that softens old gaskets and makes it easier to scrape, but even with that it takes alotta work and razor blades.
I really like the new ignition location... I think I'm as excited about seeing it done as you must be.
You need to bring the beast to Cambria this summer!

Lookin good!
That wiring was a blast was it not???? I forgot to jumper the wires for the sidestand switch and when I cranked it up all was fine until I put it in gear. I guess after shortening or rerouting nearly every wire on the bike that this was an easy thing to fix considering what might have been.

Great place for the regulator. I'm not so sure about the key location though. I imagine some contortions getting my hand into place to turn it, especially from the seat. Hm, maybe not though. Very inventive, at the very least.

I have been pondering a switch location in a similar loacation but since all the electrics have been moved from besode the batt box I have yet to put my sidecovers back on. Looks too cool with them off and the big gaping hole where everything used to be. If I was running side covers I would copy this, if I actually decide to never run side covers again I will relo the switch somewhere back there.
Regardless your bike is gonna be the $&!## man. I love all the variations everyone has come up with, really makes our bikes individuals like ourselves. I cannot wait to hear what kinda HP and torque this thing is gonna put out.
